For this group Troy is singing and playing mandolin and is joined by Aubrey Boothman on vocals, percussion and guitar, Tom Gaasenbeek on fiddle and Ian Simpson on guitar and vocals to form Quell the Swell. We play a wide range of music including; traditional celtic music by Stan Rogers, The Dubliners and the Irish Rovers, to East coast music like Great Big Sea and Spirit of the West, celtic influenced rock bands like The Pogues, Flogging Molly and The Dropkick Murphys, foot stomping instrumental fiddle tunes, jigs and reels and even some popular music by Green Day, The Tragically Hip, The Beatles, REM and the Proclaimers that we put our own celtic spin on. It's always a good time and not just on St Paddys Day.

Troy HARMER LIVE IN CONCERT AT YOUR PLACE on youtube
From September to June Troy hosts a weekly live music podcast every Tuesday night at 8pm. After a great run on ustre.am/19diq for nearly 4 years, the show has been moved to youtube. There have been some adjustments to overcome but overall it has made the broadcast more accessible. You can check out all the latest videos and subscribe to the new youtube channel here.
If you haven't seen the podcast lately, it has come a long way from my humble beginnings and I am very proud of how it has grown. I have updated editing software which offers capabilities for blue screen, added graphics, intro music and special features. The show is totally live without a net. You can interact with me in real time. I can answer your questions and play your request. Every week I get a few more visiters and I have really enjoyed featuring my talented friends as special guest. I hope you will join me every Tuesday night at 8pm.
Troy on Euphonious
Troy was recently featured in The Indie Spotlight on Euphonious Radio. The station ran a hour special that was rebroadcast for 7 days which showcased ten of Troy's original recordings and featuring a live in studio interview and performance. We would like to thanks dj Stevo and Euphonious Radio for their support and encourage you to check them out for yourself. They play a lot of really great music that you may not hear anywhere else.
MORE GIGS ?
The key to playing music for a living is that you need to be as versatile as possible. If I had my choice I would be playing electric guitar with the Persuaders every night of the week. My true love will always be playing and singing blues and classic rock. However I do also enjoy playing jazz, acoustic guitar and classical guitar. Luckily for me I get to do it all.
In an effort to stay gainfully employed I am booking myself with several other projects. I have an acoustic duo with bassist Ed Fletcher called Tread. I have a celtic group called Quell The Swell. As mentioned above I am now a full time member of a traditional blues band called Bluze Cruze. I also have 3 other side projects that have their own pages on this website.
The Troy Harmer Organ Trio: instrumental jazz and funk featuring guitar, organ with left hand bass and drums.
Hardwood an acoustic duo that plays classic rock and top forty featuring Troy guitar vocals Steven Tomalty drums and vocals.
Solo instrumental guitar gigs for wedding ceremonys and/or dinner music. I have added 3 new pages to this website that showcase these other projects. If you know of any venues or festivals that would be a good fit for the Persuaders or one of my other projects please let me know.
